I'm running Catalina 10.15.6 on a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019). I have a Thunderbay 4 Mini connected and am running SoftRAID XT v5.8.4.
I have so far resisted the temptation to upgrade to Big Sur (in large part to give things time to settle in, including SoftRAID), but it is required to use my new OCW TB4 dock.
Is there a preferred order of upgrade? os10 to os11 first, then SoftRAID 6 beta? Or vice versa? I'm hoping to minimize the headaches created by these upgrades.
Dan
If you can wait a couple days, we should have b48 ready, to fix the intel issues.
Otherwise use this version:
https://softraid.com/updates/SoftRAID%206.0.1%20b43.dmg
The upgrade should go OK, though. Just make sure you approve OWC as a Identified developer, so the driver can load.
Thank you. Is it preferred to upgrade to Big Sur first, or install SoftRAID beta in Catalina, then upgrade to Big Sur?
If the former is ok, or there is no difference, I'll go ahead and upgrade to Big Sur as I can live without access to the TB4 raid for a few days.
The Big Sur will replace the driver, so it makes no difference.
