Routine crashes even with SIP and Secure Boot Off

A crash is unrelated to the SIP/Secure boot issues. There should be no crashes.

Send a SoftRAID supprot file to support at softraid and we can take a look at it and try to figure out what is crashing.

5.8.1 will remove the SIP limitation warning, 10.15.1 fixes the bug.

Secure boot is still an issue, we do not have a resolution with Apple on this yet.

The kernel panic is not in the SoftRAID driver or coming from a SoftRAID disk, but it is in the IO stack.

I will try that this evening (it is my home studio computer). I've had Adguard installed for a long time prior to these crashes though, only since using SoftRAID has it start popping up. But I'll see.

The iMac should not be crashing like this and so we need to eliminate this as a variable. Its worth the test.

I cant imaging huesync could cause this, so we should check adguard to be sure.

The only other thing I can think of that is running at an IO/kernel level is Dropbox. But if Dropbox can't be placed on a SoftRAID drive, then I really don't have much choice here.

Just crashed again after less then 20 minutes of uptime.

Its unlikely to be DropBox, I know many users have it and never saw a panic as a result.

SoftRAID is not mentioned in the backtrace, so it is not directly responsible for the panics.

Do you have all one brand of RAM installed in this computer?

Do you have a clean OS X install, you can test with and see if it happens with that?

This has all only been happening since using this hard drive array and SoftRAID. I don't have the time nor the ability to do a clean install right now and deal with all of that (especially considering this hard drive array is where I would put all the data, and I don't feel like I can trust it right now).

This is a direct-from-Apple iMac Pro with no third-part RAM or other modifications that I've had for over a year with no problems like this.

Right now, the Thunderbay 6 has been turned off, and the computer is no longer crashing, so I don't know how willing I am to point at any other issues. Maybe it's not SoftRAID, but it's is definitely something to do with the enclosure and/or SoftRAID.

We do not know the cause, but it appears to be in Catalina. The SoftRAID driver is not in the back trace, so a disk is not triggering this. Its possible the enclosure is triggering this, but it is certainly in OS X that resides the issue.

Can you run this in terminal:

sudo sysdiagnose -f ~/Desktop/

It will make a large file (200MB) on your desktop. Send it to us via "wetransfer.com"
(I will scrub the link before letting it get posted to the Forum.
Also, save a SoftRAID tech support file and send that via wetransfer also.

It will help us get attention at Apple on this issue, so very much appreciated.

I don't want this to remain an issue, if we can report this soon enough, it could get fixed in 10.15.2.
