Startup Security may be a clue, disabling this (set to none) seems to work. I need to investigate, but it may be a short term solution.

I gave disabling Startup Security a go, and indeed it worked. Thank you everyone for the tip. Meanwhile, hopefully we can have more permanent solution in near future.

We are working on something more permanent.

Just a quick note, after installing the Catalina Supplemental update the 5.8 driver was no longer installed. I had to go though the process of disabling SIP, reinstalling the 5.8 driver, and enabling SIP again. Secure Boot remained off post-update.

EDIT: I seldom post without an edit.

We are not happy about this, and we are working hard to find a permanent resolution.

5.8.1 works fine. Secure Boot must be disabled on T2 equipped machines. This will remain the case for at least the near future.

on my Mac Pro, SoftRAID XT 5.8.1, It still re-installs the driver on every launch of SoftRAID. I'm running Catalina 10.15.3 BETA...

Send a tech support file to support at softraid.com

Can I assume you have disable Secure Boot (If your computer has a T2 Security chip?)

What is most likely happening is Catalina is not updating the boot (extensions) cache correctly.

I have secure boot disabled and I still have to go through the install updated drivers each time I open the SoftRAID app.

Are you running 5.8, or 5.8.1?

You must be running 5.8.1, or it will pop up a dialog box.

Disabling Secure Boot worked for me.

Will Softraid be able to run with Secure Boot turned on in the future?

We are talking to Apple about this, hopefully.

Otherwise we have some ideas how to avoid this, but it would be a major change we would prefer to avoid.

I have 5.8.1 and when I launch SoftRAID it recognizes I have SmartRAID 5.8.1 and driver as it is requesting my password to "make changes'
