Initialize a disk with SoftRAID.
Create a volume on it.
Move your data over (SuperDuper works if this is a system volume)
If this is a boot volume:
  Then run SoftRAID
  Rebuild Boot cache on this cloned volume
  Restart to the new volume

Now you can initiailze the Apple disk with SoftRAID
