<p>Select the volume tile.<br />In volumes menu, disable Safeguard<br />Select the disks and in disks column, initialize the disks.<br />create a New volume, (Volumes menu), select the desied RAID type, etc. (this will be the faster of the two volumes)<br />in lower right corner, for the volume size, specify how large you want it.<br />then create the second volume with the balance.<br /><br /><br /></p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It would only be simple if you provided instructions to follow.  And then you had to add a "note" to avoid OS issues, so it's really not simple.  Before I posted my question I tried creating a new volume on my new thunderbay4 system and got an error message (see attached).  I appreciate the prompt response and information.</p>

<p>Its so simple, I guess we do not have explicit instructions.<br />All you do is initialize the disks.<br />create a new volume, select RAID type, etc. (this will be the faster of the two volumes)<br />in lower right corner, for the volume size, specify how large you want it.<br />then create the second volume with the balance.</p>
<p>(Note to help avoid a potential MacOS issue, select 64k Stripe unit size when prompted, if your volume is 64K.</p>]]></content:encoded>
