Hi there!
I deleted a RAID5 (4x 8TB). The HDDs themselves where not formatted yet.
The volume doesn´t show up in the right volume display.
The HDDs show up in the left.
Any chance to recover the RAID as it was?
You had a RAID 4 volume and accidentally deleted it with SoftRAID, without a backup?
(That is why we added the volume safeguard, to reduce the risks of accidental deletion.)
I think it is possible, but not for a layperson.
I deleted the backup first because I upgraded from 4 to 5 HDDs.
The I accidentally deleted the "MAIN" volume where I work on.
HDDs have not been formatted! Isn´t there any chance to recover?
You contacted us direct on this. Recovery is difficult. If anyone on the threads knows the RAID Recovery application that can help manually patch together the RAID, post it here. A user had success with it, but I cannot find the thread.
disc utility still "sees" 75/25% capacity on each drive.
any help is welcome. :-(
A deleted volume is not easy to recover from. We could perhaps do it if we had the drives, but it is time consuming. Professional companies like Drive Savers can do it also. Depends on how much the data is worth, as it is not inexpensive to accomplish this. (unless you can find an application that helps you and you do it yourself.
Also, be aware, there are lots of companies that would be happy to take your money and not deliver.

It requires engineering to recover a deleted volume. We could probably do it, but there is a charge.
