Need help!  First, could not install SoftRAID on Catalina without disabling secure boot - which I do not want to do.  After trying to install and getting SoftRAID warning that I must disable secure boot, I am using Apple MacOS RAID (while waiting for a SoftRAID version that can work with secure boot).

But now OWC Express 4M2 is randomly producing the Disk Not Ejected Properly error.  Unchecking Power Nap, etc didn't solve the problem.  I happens sometime while I'm working.

I'd like to troubleshoot by making sure there are no components of SoftRAID that installed that may be interfering with Apple RAID.  But I can't run the SoftRAID uninstaller without installing first.  Would be nice if SoftRAID supplied a standalone uninstaller.  But since there isn't one, is there a way to uninstall whatever may have installed during my attempted and aborted installation attempt?

Also, I've received conflicting information from OWC regarding secure boot.  Is there a new version of SoftRAID (maybe 6.0) coming that will not require disabling MacOS secure boot on Macs with the T2 chip?  If so, is that capability already existing in the 6.0 beta version?

Secure Boot is up to Apple, not us.

I have discovered that the latest versions of Big Sur may not require Secure Boot, however, but I am still testing. We are trying to confirm that this will be a policy decision by Apple, rather than a bug that allows 11.1 to work with Secure Boot enabled. You are welcome to try it also.

Catalina cannnot work with Secure Boot enabled. However, read this article, which explains how limited Secure Boot is in the scope of Apple operating security. It is literally a 30 second check.

ON your M2, this proves it is a hardware Thunderbolt issue, not SoftRAID. (We do have an uninstaller in the Utilities menu, BTW). Apple ships multiple drivers with macOS, including a limited SoftRAID driver. however, it does not do anything unless a disk in SoftRAID format is connected. (the same holds for the Apple RAID driver, which works the same way as SoftRAID's)

Did you check cables? Make sure they are tight? Is the cable next to a power cable or USB cable?

Do you have any additional devices connected? Such as a USB hub? Try with all other hardware disconnected and see if you get ejects. then try a different Thunderbolt port. See if you can isolate a trigger.

What is happening is a Thunderbolt chip somewhere is "crashing"/resetting, which causes the disk ejections.

How do I access the uninstaller in the Utilities menu when the SoftRAID app won't launch unless I disable secure boot?

Disable Secure Boot. Its only temporary.

Did you read this article about what it does and how long?
