This will be fixed in Monterey. It appears that this driver loading issue will NOT be fixed in a forthcoming Big Sur release.

We are going to put in a workaround in 6.1, per some user requests in the forum. Its the best we can do. it will be a preference available for Big Sur users, to manually load the driver. I may have a beta of this in a few days.

Its a Big Sur bug. Some users experience a fix with 11.5, but not all. Apple will fix it one day, but we do not know when.

In the meantime, this terminal command will load the driver after a restart:

sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext

Note:
The "up" key in terminal will show prior commands, so next time you need to manually load SoftRAID, just hit the up arrow in the terminal window, and this command will be available without having to type it.

If you get an error with the command, or your volume still does not mount, post a SoftRAID Tech Support file.

Has this ever been fixed? My RAID drive doesn't appear on the desktop again for some strange reason.

Problem is that I have quite a few drivers to load on a daily basis. I'm willing to try uninstalling those components. Please let me know. Thanks!

No we are waiting for a response to a ticket on this from Apple. Keep manually loading it for now.

There may be a way to fix it by manually uninstalling components, using terminal, I am trying it on a few people to get some percentage that it fixes before knowing whether it might work consistently or not.

I just performed the 6.05 update.

I got the Allow Prompt.

Restarted - no load.

Command line successfully loaded.

I thought we had this one fixed. sorry

One thing I noticed. Right after I installed 6.0.3 and clicked on "Allow" in Privacy, the message "Rebuilding the System Cache" appeared before restarting the Mac. I didn't see that message with 6.0.4 and 6.0.5.

Ok so 6.0.3 works. After rebooting, the drive appeared immediately. 6.0.4 and 6.0.5 do not work.

How will I know to update so that this doesn't occur again?
