6.0.4 RAID won't mount

Having all these issues reported here.  Uninstall reinstall loads once.  Does not mount on restart.  The sudo command will mount the drives.

Attached the support file for diagnostics.

Here is my log as well. Having the same issues with my iMacPro and 6.0.4.

My RAID volumes fail to mount every single time i update SoftRAID. 

The above process with the terminal commands etc generally fixes things though. Nevertheless, its an annoying process.

I have now changed my preferences to never check for updates and will stick on the version I am on (6.0.4) for the foreseeable future rather then go through this process (and the worry about accessing my drives) every time there is an update.

When you set reduced secutiry for the system, did you check the lower box:

Lets make sure, as this should be working in your setup.

Select reduced security and be sure to enable this:
Select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox to allow installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

You have a different and easier to resolve, problem. You have old extensions that are blocking drivers from loading in Big Sur.

uninstall SoftRAID, from utlities menu and restart.

Run these commands in the terminal.app (one at a time)

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/HoRNDIS.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/AJ_MPD1_ProtocolService.kext

sudo rm -r Library/Extensions/SiLabsUSBDriver.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/P2DriveFamilyDriver.kext

sudo rm -r Library/Extensions/ExtMediaBSDClient.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/EPSONUSBPrintClass.kext

sudo kmutil clear-staging
sudo kextcache -i /

restart, run SoftRAID and install the driver. Before you restart, go to System preferences/Security and "Allow" OWC as an identified developer. Then restart.

You should not really be seeing this, but click y for yes, each time it prompts. It could be a clue that something is incorrect about ownerships.

YOu can skip 6.0.5, but you want to upgrade to 6.1. We will be trying to add new code to minimize these painful issues in 6.1.

Do you need those framebuffer drivers? they are a couple years old and could be causing issues. Lets try deleting them in terminal:

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/MSMFramebuffer.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/MSMVideoDevice.kext

sudo kmutil clear-staging
sudo kextcache -i /

Restart and you may need to reinstall the SoftRAID driver if your volume is not mounting.

After running through the steps you posted, I get to the "Allow" step and there's no "Allow" option in the Privacy pref window. From here, I'm back to square one with the driver not loading.  Here's another log after I ran the steps you submitted;

I performed the above command and it had no effect.  I will perform a full uninstall/reinstall on Friday if you think that may work.

The drives do mount when using the terminal command mentioned previously.

I do not have Apple Silicon, I have an intel Mac with the T2 security chip, so the checkboxes are only for lowering security, and the second checkbox is about booting from external drives.

Right now, it is setup for "no security" and "allow booting from external or removable media"

These settings were this way from Apple, as I purchased this with MacOS pre-installed

This is progress, actually. Lets delete a couple extensions.

Uninstall SoftRAID (utilities menu)

Paste these into terminal, one at a time:

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/SiLabsUSBDriver.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/ExtMediaBSDClient.kext

sudo kmutil clear-staging

sudo kextcache -i /

restart

Now run SoftRAID and see if you get the "Allow". if you do not, there is one more extension we can try deleting, the Duet Display

the new forum does not thread things, so I cannot always follow threads smoothly.

Lets try deleting the Epson driver and see if it changes anything

restart

Now run SoftRAID and see if you get the "Allow". (You should), then lets see if the driver can load without the kextload command.

After running through the last set of instructions to delete the extensions, I'm still not getting the allow option.
