This is a Big Sur bug that Apple needs to fix in MacOS. We have been promised it will be fixed in Monterey, although it is not yet fixed in the most recent beta.

We are going to try building a workaround in SoftRAID 6.1, for Big Sur, so as to get around this as much as possible.

Yes. I confirmed this issue while I upgrade to Parallels 17 and reboot for the extension.

Now everytime I have to run the terminal code again to mount my RAID disks.

Please address this issue and fixed it. Thank you

This is a Big Sur issue, which should be fixed in Monterey. We hope to have a workaround in 6.1.

Today Parallels prompted me to re-install the extension and again the raid went offline. Thankfully your trick DOES work. Thanks!

Turns out after all that, I reinstalled Parallels 17 and it works this time. Thanks for the tip though. If it happens again I'll try out the command.

Did you try manually loading the SoftRAID driver? This could also be the same Big Sur bug that prevents some auto loading drivers from auto loading at startup.

Paste this into terminal after restart.

sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext

Note:
The "up" key in terminal will show prior commands, so next time you need to manually load SoftRAID, just hit the up arrow in the terminal window, and this command will be available without having to type it.

A few days ago I upgraded from Parallels 16 to 17 and when my Mac rebooted my softRAID OWC drive would not mount no matter what I did. I finally uninstalled SoftRAID and uninstalled Parallels 17, then reinstalled SoftRAID and installed Parallels 16 and bam up came the raid drive. I don't have time to try it again as a test, so I can't prove that it's the issue, but it did install an extension and force a restart with the install of 17. I'm running MacOS 11.4 on an 8 core i9 2019 MacBook Pro.

I posted in the Parallels forums but no one has responded (and their twitter support has ignored me so far). I figured I'd post here in case anyone else wanted to test it. This was SoftRAID XT 6.0.5 and an OWC Express 4M2.
