Connect only the disk for this volume. (or disks if a RAID volume)
uninstall SoftRAID driver
Run Disk Utility and erase this disk.

<p>uninstall SoftRAID driver</p>
<p>Run Disk Utility and erase this disk.</p>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>@softraid-support although it has a time machine folder on it, it’s only one folder on the drive and that drive is no longer in the time machine list and hasn’t been for ages. I can normally eject the drive - yes although sometimes it takes a few goes.<br /><br />Brute force method is fine as I have no other choice and just want to empty the drive/array now. Happy to use terminal or whatever is necessary <br /><br /></p>

<p>I have tried everything, rebooting, un-mounting etc. No other 'apps' are running.  Safeguard is Disabled.</p>
<p>No matter what I try it still keeps coming up with an error saying that an application is using the volume.</p>
