SoftRAID requires a "healthy" volume to rebuild, i.e, it has to be read/writable and mounted.

 

Do you have access to Disk Warrior?

Or you may need to do a backup restore.

The GUI tree shows a yellow link next to one drive (that happens to be in an enclosure all by itself). When I tell SoftRAID to start a Rebuild, nothing happens. Automatic Rebuilds are enabled but there is no disk activity.

 

The command line tool reports the following. Is there a way to force the rebuild? Thanks. If it is related, I am also getting a MacOS dialog once per startup that says the volume cannot be repaired.

 

 

 

 

~ % softraidtool status

 

SoftRAID Tool version: 6.0.5, SoftRAID driver version: 6.0.5

 

The mirror volume "RAID10" (disk11) is out of sync.

 

 

~ % sudo softraidtool volume disk11 startrebuild

Starting rebuild on RAID10.

SoftRAIDTool error: the volume RAID10 cannot currently be used with this command.  This command requires that at least one of the disks for this volume be out of sync.
