That’s ok a just on top of all the SoftRaid issues and Kernel panics I experienced. So unfortunately I will have to say goodby to OWC storage solutions.

That is what I did in my testing. I won't have access to the Promise box to repeat this testing immediately, but will get to it when I can.

This OWC does not have the same HD though it's my Secon OWC with WD Red Drives

but results are pretty similar to my previous test where I swapped the same drives over.

Use AJA System test (free in app store), it is a more reliable and consistent benchmark test.

My recommended settings to test disks, not CPU are:

5K video resolution (any)

RGBA codec

16 GB or 64GB file size.

Both are connected via Thunderbolt 3 and the Promise is formated as raid 5.

The Promise is over double the speed writing and substantially faster reading
