OK, so I have a Thunderbay4 (thunderbolt 2) and want to upgrade to an 8-bay enclosure. I'm running RAID 1+0 currently.

My plan is to move the four drives from the Thunderbay 4 enclosure to the Thunderbay 8 enclosure, ensure it's running normally,  then add additional drives later to expand space.  Is this the correct order of events?

I'm trying to avoid a backup/restore process.

We do not support increasing the size of a RAID 1+0 volume. What you could do is create a 4 drive RAID 0, copy the data to it, then "Convert" to RAID 10 after deleting the old volume.

One more question, do you support increasing size of a raid 0 volume?

Sorry, we do not support increasing the size of RAID 0 volumes. They have no redundancy, so there is no easy way to increase the size of the disks. Expert users could "dd" the disks, then resize the volume, but that requires command line knowledge.
