After certifying, verifying, initializing and reconfiguring the RAID configuration, I am still experiencing this behavior. All disks are detected until the computer goes to sleep and then SoftRAID and Disk Utility lose 2/4 disks. As of this morning, the missing drives do not appear in either SoftRAID (disks column) or in Disk Utility. The disks are in a new OWC ThunderBay 4 enclosure connected via Thunderbolt 3.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Hi,

I am also experiencing this behavior. SoftRAID Lite XT 5.6.7 reports a degraded, missing secondary disk in my two disk RAID 1 array whenever my iMac Pro wakes from sleep. The missing disk is not visible in SoftRAID, but is visible in Disk Utility (for example). I can also still access the Volume via Finder, etc., but that's not surprising since the first disk in the Mirror is behaving normally.

Problematic disk is a Seagate Barracuda Pro 8TB drive (model: ST8000DM0004-1ZC11G) installed in OWC ThunderBay 4. Mirrored disk is the same model. Enclosure and disks are all new, but I noticed this behavior in my first naive day of use. After doing some more reading, I am certifying the disks (one at a time) and will likely adjust the RAID configuration, when certification and verification is complete. However, I did wonder if there's a solution to this issue in the event that I continue to have this problem when all disks are back online.

Thanks!

I am now getting this error repeatedly when waking the Mac from sleep. I have a 3 SSD RAID-0 array managed by SoftRaid lite 5.6.3 on a fresh install of High Sierra. The SSDs are in a Akitio Thunder 2 Quad Mini. When waking the Mac from sleep, I see the degraded error, and when opening SoftRaid, I see that one of my three SSDs have dropped from the array.

However, the array is still mounted on my desktop and my files are still accessible!

What is the fix for this?

I generated a support report, but the website says "the type of file you attached is not allowed"
