Hi there,
My Raid went offline this morning shortly after starting work with FCPx
It came and went a couple of times. Ive changed out the Thunderbolt cables and the drives now seem stable and both drives in the mirror show in soft raid as 'no errors' but the Raid shows as 'degraded - no secondary disc - safeguard enabled'

I saw a similar post in the forum where you suggested to use the Remove Missing Discs command to cure this issue. I tried this but I still get the same warning.

So are my discs working OK as suggested by the Discs Pane and my Raid actually working as a mirror pair or do i actually have a problem as suggested in the Volumes Pane.

Screenshots of the log page and Panes attached

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

gavin

Your mirror split. (failed over)

the only way to repair this at this point is "manually".

Determine which volume, if either, contains the latest data.
rename the other volume. (I will refer to it as ex-secondary volume)
Disable Safeguard on ex-secondary volume.
Delete ex-secondary volume.
Select the remaining volume and "remove missing secondary disk" if necessary
"add secondary disk" and let it rebuild.

Thanks for the quick response.
Any advice on what is likely to have caused the mirror to split like this?
Will be rebuilding the Raid shortly.

The primary disk was not available for a period of time, so the volume "failed over" to ensure your data was available.
