Ever since I installed SoftRAID 5.5 with a 4 x disk RAID-4, I've been getting Kernel Panics. The Kernel panics are completely random and not reproducible. But they happen at least 4 times a day. I have no idea how to fix this problem! However, it only started happening after setting up the RAID-4 drive.
Here is information that might be relevant to you:

I tried emailing support@softraid.com, but my email was rejected, the following error message was sent to me:

It appears either your email has been compromised or your ISPdid not do enough to protect your IP address from appearing to be sending spam. Did you check the link above? Did you contact your ISP?
We do have a company that filters spam, but we cannot bypass the systems they use for stopping spams.
Give it another try, or call the company that is managing your email address.
There is no way to post a support file on the server.

Oh that's bad. I never realized my email automatically sends spam.
I have a Chinese email address because most foreign email services such as Gmail are blocked by censorship here. I'll try sending via iCloud email. Could you please not delete my post until I successfully send the email? (So I can copy paste the info into different email accounts) Thanks a bunch!

We received your email, it appears that our ISP's spam filter was filtering mail from china from your IP address range.
Regardless, we are happy you are OK now, that your problem is a hardware issue that Akitio has posted a fix for here:

We have not fully investigated this issue at this time, but are posting this link in case other have this problem.

I am posting this in case the kernel panic issue is real and to help your team research this.
I have been getting frequent kernel panics in the last few weeks since installing the Soft Raid 5.6. I am not sure that is the case or any of a host of other factors, but my console panic logs look very similar to the ones above. Each happens hours into a verification (between 1 and 22 hours so far!) and I have been unable to fully complete a verification in one uninterrupted run.
I am using OWC Thunderbolt 2 v12 TB RAID 5 on OS Sierra latest version on an iMac 27 inch 5K Retina 4K RAM. The RAM upgrades are also OWC so highly reputable...
As is well known, Kernel panics are a pain to troubleshoot.
I am currently checking out the RAM issues to see if that is the problem and will update this if that is the case. The reason I suspect Soft Raid is the timing and the console logs (admittedly cryptic) but they do report Soft Raid Kexts in the Backtrace...
In addition I am fairly sure that my kernel panics only occur while running a verification as I have not had any while leaving the iMac on for day which is far longer than the time it takes to get a kernel panic to occurs.
In case it was a heating issue, I used TG pro and some fans to keep the mac cooler than it had been and well within the green zone.
Tech Tool Pro 9 and Apple Hardware test did not report any RAM problems or other failures and have been run several times but I am removing RAM modules one by one and seeing if I have or have not removed the kernel panics.
Apart from a clean install of OS Sierra, I have done most of the troubleshooting for a Kernel panic, such as PRAM reset, SMC reset. A safe boot is not really that useful as the list of kexts and other items that are not loaded is pretty huge so even if the panics disappear it is not easy to figure out what is causing it.
If I am interpreting the kernel panics correctly, the kexts in the backtrace are listed in reverse order of loading, with the most recent first. A partial copy of a typical kernel panic is below.
I have noticed that while most of the panics list Soft Raid 5.6 as a last loaded kext, some report "com.apple.driver.AppleHIDKeyboard" as the last loaded kext. There may thus be more than one cause
I read somewhere that if initiate verbose mode for startup, the kernel panics will be more detailed. If so, I will find out soon enough as i have initiated verbose mode using Cocktail.

The first test you need to do is remove the extra RAM and repeat your test. Let us know.

Yes, I agree.
Somewhat surprisingly removal of both the OWC 16GB RAM modules has so far, (30 hours continuous running of the iMac), has resolved the kernel panics. This seems odd given the quality of the OWC modules in general, and the observation that neither TTTP 9 pro or Apple Hardware diagnostics detected any RAM issues and that BOTH modules had to be removed to fix the probem.
However, I can't argue with the empiric result - removal of the RAM modules has worked so far!!!!
I have contacted OWC.

Macs often have problems with mixed RAM, it is best these days to have 100% the same brand in them. So the solution (assuming you just added a module(s), is to replace the other one with the same RAM.
OWC support knows more about this than I do, however.

I learned the hard way about mixed RAM. I installed 16GB of Crucial ram—the brand most recommended for Macs—and subsequently got kernel panics multiple times a day every day, for weeks, which I thought were related to SoftRaid. Once I removed the original 8GB of Apple ram it's been smooth sailing.

I know for sure it's not a RAM issue for me. I had a 2011 iMac that was experiencing increasing kernel panics over the past few weeks and once Apple couldn't determine any particular hardware or malware issues, suggested I consider a new machine as they suspected that years of heavy use (3D rendering/animation/etc.) meant the logic board could be dying.
As such, I just purchased a brand new MacBook Pro (15" 5k Retina / 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7 / 16 GB RAM / Radeon Pro 560) and I've already experienced two kernel panics with my OWC Thunderbay 4 Mini SSD RAID. My report looks very similar to the other posters on this thread and specifically calls out the SoftRAID.
And now that I'm trying to troubleshoot the same problem on two different machines, I've realized the panics only started happening after updating the software to 5.6.1 awhile back.
Any help would be great. I plan to email support, but wanted to bump this thread as well.

We will take a look. BTW: the reason it "calls out" SoftRAID, is the panic is involved with activity on disks controlled by SoftRAID, so we log/report it, regardless of cause. Finding cause can be tricky, but we are happy to investigate. Send us a tech support file.

Hmm. That's interesting. The computer was in sleep mode when I left and when I returned had restarted. The only disks being controlled by SoftRAID are the 4 SSD drives in the Thunderbay, so I wonder if there's a default OS Sierra setting that's reading/writing to those disks even in sleep?

Unfortunately I keep getting the same SoftRAID 5.6.3 backtrace issue. Yes, it's completely random. In most cases it's happening when I am away from my computer. My MacBook has been running idle for 1-2 hours. Than the screen went black (Sleepmode is disabled) and OS X didn't respond. As soon as I've pulled out the Thunderbolt cable for the OWC ThunderBay mini (RAID 4 with SSD), the system rebooted.
I’ve noticed this behaviour a couple of times. What can I do? Apple's Panic report always reports SoftRAID 5.6.3 backtrace issues. There no Third-Party drivers involved. I've opened a support ticket with Tech report.
