Apple don't provide much info on this update, but on my system there would now appear to be no problems with SoftRAID 6.05 & or other drivers loading as there has been previously. Just a heads up but who knows, perhaps there may be a fix here?

MacPro 7,1 macOS Sonoma 14.2, 16 core, 2TB /192GB, Vega II Duo. 8TB Thunderbay 6 RAID 4, 2TB Sonnet M.2 4x4 RAID 0. UA Apollo x8, UAD-2 quad, Decklink MiniMon 4k. Dell U3419W & BenQ SW2700PT. FaderPort 16, KK S61, Nuendo, Wavelab, Live, Logic, Resolve Studio.

Thanks for the report. This is a "security" update, so unlikely to have many bug fixes. I will try to find out if it fixes the bug loading drivers, however.

Updated from 11.5.1 (SoftRaid was running fine with my 3 disk array mounted) to 11.5.2. Now the raid array will NOT mount. Used the hack to load the driver:

    robertbryant@Chama ~ % sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext

    Password:xxxx

and got this result:

Error Domain=KMErrorDomain Code=27 "Extension with identifiers com.FTDI.driver.FTDIUSBSerialDriver,com.sophos.kext.oas,com.github.osxfuse.filesystems.osxfuse,com.sophos.nke.swi,com.softraid.driver.SoftRAID,com.highpoint-tech.kext.HighPointRR,com.paragon-software.filesystems.ntfs,com.prolific.driver.PL2303,com.highpoint-tech.kext.HighPointIOP,com.globaldelight.driver.VoilaDevice,com.AmbrosiaSW.AudioSupport,com.Logitech.ControlCenter.HIDDriver,com.intel.driver.EnergyDriver,com.Cycling74.driver.Soundflower,com.jmicron.JMicronATA,com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver,com.sophos.kext.sfm not approved to load. Rebooted my iMac twice and rebooted the OWC raid array with the same result!

My log on reboot gives this error: Aug 17 18:48:31 - SoftRAID Tool: The command 94 encountered the error -50.
every time!

Help, down for the count... Bob

@bob88061

I woulkd do this:

Uninstall SoftRAID driver. (volumes menu)

restart

Install SoftRAID driver. the option to go to System preferences should appear. Allow before restart. After you click allow click "restart later", go to SoftRAID and click restart.

See if your volume mounts/ driver loads.

If it does not try kmutil to load the driver. If it does not, save a new SoftRAID Tech Support file and post it.

No Joy! Tried to "Uninstall SoftRAID driver. (volumes menu)" but the option was grayed out.

I then uninstalled SoftRAID using the (utilities menu). Rebooted, sent to trash the SoftRAID 6.0.5, reinstalled SoftRAID 6.0.5.

When I started SoftRAID the driver installed. So far so good.

I then did the manual load of the driver (and got the same error message as in my first post).

   "Error Domain=KMErrorDomain Code=27 "Extension with identifiers ..."

Opened the SoftRAID app and churned for awhile then my disk volumes showed up with my raid volume "unmounted". Tried to mount the raid volume with the same result, would not mount!

I did the above 3 times always with the same result.  Attempting to load the driver seems to be an issue as I get the error when attempting to load the driver manually.

My "System Preferences - Extensions - Added Extensions" does NOT have SoftRAID listed in the "See all extensions that you have installed on your Mac" listed!  Is that the problem?

It would appear so because when I try to load the SoftRAID driver that error message ends with "not approved to load. Please approve using System Preferences." and because SoftRAID driver does not appear in the extensions it will not load!

Regards, Bob

Fixed. Talked to Josh in technical support, problem was that needed to allow SoftRAID "Full Disk Access" under "System Preferences - Security & Privacy - Full Disk Access" check box SoftRAID 6.0.5
After Reboot my SoftRAID volume mounted AOK w/o having to load the driver manually.
Big Smile for Josh and me!
Bob
