I will either unmount before sleep or I'll use the amphetamine app to ensure the drives are kept awake.  ... I suppose I can **try** to set the sleep time with `pmset` first though that doesn't seem to help others.

The drives are controlled by macOS. Try disable sleep, and/or lengthen the sleep cycle.

It should not crash on waking up of course.

You did something weird. This is an HFS softRAID volume, but perhaps you erased it with Disk utility as APFS?

 

I think you need to uninstall SoftRAID driver.

restart.

Run Disk utility and erase each disk.

Then run SoftRAID and reinstall the driver.

Make sure you "Allow" OWC as an identifed developer.

Now create a new volume.
