<p>I will either unmount before sleep or I'll use the amphetamine app to ensure the drives are kept awake.  ... I suppose I can **try** to set the sleep time with `<strong><em>pmset` </em></strong><em>first though that doesn't seem to help others.</em></p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I don't know if I completely follow the full thread, but I've <a href="https://forums.softraid.com/macos-issues-2-2-big-sur-issues/major-stability-issues-with-m1-mac-mini-big-sur-11-6-softraid-6-1/#post-12156" target="true">been having stability issues with a brand new M1 Mac Mini and SoftRAID 6.1</a>.  In my testing, I found with or without SoftRAID installed, the ThunderBay 4 goes into cycles of sleep / wake every 5-10 seconds when Mini sleeps.  Other attached drives don't seem to be affected (they are on USB) not thunderbolt.  However, with SoftRAID installed, I have had the system crash shortly on waking the computer up. </p>]]></content:encoded>

You did something weird. This is an HFS softRAID volume, but perhaps you erased it with Disk utility as APFS?
 
I think you need to uninstall SoftRAID driver.

<p>I think you need to uninstall SoftRAID driver.</p>
<p>restart.</p>
<p>Run Disk utility and erase each disk.</p>
<p>Then run SoftRAID and reinstall the driver.</p>
<p>Make sure you "Allow" OWC as an identifed developer.</p>
