Multiple "Boot OSX" keeps appearing

These are hidden partitions and normally macOS filters them out. Last time I saw multiple reports of this was with Mavericks (10.9).

Its possible there is something incorrect about the SoftRAID driver's installation.

Try "uninstall SoftRAID", (Utiliities menu) restart, then when you install SoftRAID's driver, do not restart until after you see the System Preferences dialog pop up and you can allow OWC as an identified developer. THen you can restart. Lets see if this fixes the issue.

@softraid-support I uninstalled(From Utilities menu) the driver then restarted but I still see the weird Boot OSX and can still access ALL my SoftRAID drives. So it hasn't been fully uninstalled? Do I need to delete the SoftRAID app?

No, it means the macOS bundled driver is loading. After a uninstall, it should not.

If you run this in terminal, what is the output:

sudo kextstat -b com.softraid.driver.SoftRAID

(My guess is 6.0)

I still see the Boot OSX drives. I will install the new the drivers again?

Installed or uninstalled, the results are the same. Boot OSX is always present.

Its not a driver issue then, the. loading driver is correct.

Do you have Full Disk Access enabled? It should not affect this, but worth asking. I really do not know the cause of this, it has not been an issue since probably 2010. We will be removing the boot partition in any case soon, as since the SoftRAID driver can no longer boot macOS, there is no longer a need for it.

Did you run anything that "repairs" macOS, or volumes? These volumes should have a invisible flag and not show up.

Here is something you can try:

go to Finder Preferences,

Click on the General tab if it isn't selected

Uncheck "Hard disks"

The volumes should disappear from the desktop

Check "Hard disks" and the local Macintosh HD should reappear and all the Boot OSX folders should be gone.
It is worth a try and I do not think you need to restart in the middle.

Ok those didn't work.

I'm hoping the next version of SoftRAID will fix this issue.

More likely the 11.4 update will fix this, give it a try, it was released today. This is a macOS bug, all volumes have the associated boot OSX partition,  but macOS is (theoretically) intelligent enough to not mount them.

@softraid-support I have 11.4 earlier since Im a beta tester. No changes.

Now that 11.5 is out, Im tempted to give it a try but I have a lot of work. Can't risk SoftRAID wonking out again like 11.2.

And the release of 11.4 did not remove the boot OS X volumes from the desktop?

I do not think 11.5 is going to do it then.

My drives arrived today. I plugged it in and it mounted. The boot drives appeared after the True Image install.

So I uninstalled True Image and "boot osx" drives longer appear. Yeah!

That is as I expect. I know this is being worked on by Acronis, so you can either put up with the OS X volumes, or temporarily remove Acronis.

Can you run this command in terminal:

csrutil status
