One reason is there may still be an older driver actually running in the kernel extensions cache. But do update.
Please post here a notification when we are good to upgrade to the latest since I have update checks turned off.
@softraid-support So b48 is out, and it should be safe to update to that? I haven’t seen an announcement of it (but the ordering of posts in the forum is peculiar so I might have missed it).
Its good to go, update to beta 48 now.
I did change the lead sticky blog post to announce this.
Yes beta 48 is released and it supports both intel and M1 computers.
Updated to 48 and volumes mount properly but one weird thing i see is any update to system extensions seems to show as updates to other non-updated extensions. Why is it whenever I update SoftRaid other seemingly random extensions are popping up also as updated? Also I no longer even use that Zoom Audio Interface it's referring to how do I get rid of old extensions I no longer even use?
@softraid-support I tried re-enabling it but every time I reboot it reports as again disabled. does it disable itself after it runs or something? seems there is no way to permanently enable it.
@softraid-support Driver installation is still failing for me with b48. As before, it removes the SoftRAID.kext from /Library/Extensions and then reports that the driver could not be installed. I’ve reverted to b43 to get the driver back.
I upgraded my 2013 Mac Pro to Big Sur last night. I installed SoftRAID Beta 48 this morning and my Thunderbay still will not mount. How do I proceed?
Did you allow OWC as a identified developer?
Attach a support file if so, I can take a look.
This I do not know. I have to look into this.
Here you are. Thanks for the help.
