This situation could be unique to us having used the full SoftRAID 6.0beta (+ all updates) under Trial Period (60 days back then) because the XT version was not yet available.  Then, when the XT version did become available, we "upgraded" to the XT version.

So, maybe not a lot (if any) people have gone through this route, and especially through the MacOS updates (11.3.x) during this period as well.  Our license issue could somehow be related to this migration path from the 6.0beta trial to the 6.0.5XT product.

@davidk

Perhaps, but its still a bug we need to fix! and I did not see it on test systems, but may not have gone thorugh all the same steps you have, as indicated.

Is there a resolution for this? My licensed install of SoftRAID decided it was in Free Trial mode today.

@dcoke22

Save a SoftRAID tech support file and attach it, I can take a look.

I got a reply from tech support via email. They suggested moving to SoftRAID 6.3 (I was on 6.2.1) as some licensing bugs were fixed there. Also, in digging around on my system, I noticed SoftRAID no longer had Full Disk Access (I'm on Big Sur 11.6.7 on Intel). I granted it Full Disk Access and updated to 6.3 and things seem to be working normally.

I'm not sure why the Security & Privacy settings were changed. I didn't change them and no one else has access to this computer. It is a curious thing.

If it fails again, I'll generate the report for tech support.
