@jd1

This is not a problem I know. Attach a SoftRAID tech support file with the disks connected after startup. I cannot think of an obvious cause yet, either.

I am not able to use my Raid 5 (hard drive does not show up on desktop). Working out from my primary hard drive without back up. Would you be kind to provide me some help, please.

My environment is very similar, but with both SoftRAID 6.1 and 6.2 b6. I cannot manually load the driver (I have adjusted security policy), just get this error in terminal:

Error Domain=KMErrorDomain Code=71 "Could not find: Unable to get contents of boot kernel collection collection at /System/Volumes/Preboot/A8FB53E1-3280-412C-AA62-D97F3E3EF46A/boot/24DB7A9D752C29C3507C3CACF903E7BFE1AD4C76E26E821BCBA4BF6A2D44BD5325477599C004DAFABEA44BDF1ABD3A3C/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernelcaches/kernelcache" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Could not find: Unable to get contents of boot kernel collection collection at /System/Volumes/Preboot/A8FB53E1-3280-412C-AA62-D97F3E3EF46A/boot/24DB7A9D752C29C3507C3CACF903E7BFE1AD4C76E26E821BCBA4BF6A2D44BD5325477599C004DAFABEA44BDF1ABD3A3C/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernelcaches/kernelcache}

When I install the driver, I get the popup stating: A program tried to load new system extension(s) signed by "Other World Computing" that need to be updated by the developer.

@rdieringer

Are you going to System Preferences to "Allow" OWC?

and getting this error afterwards?

If so, I need to see a SoftRAID tech support file. can you attach one?

"Allow OWC" never shows in System Preferences. What is set is "Allow apps downloaded from App store and identified developers". SoftRAID has full disk access.

Attached is the report...

@rdieringer

Full Disk Acess just lets the application get raw disk information.

Try this:

uninstall SoftRAID (you have the 6.2 beta running anyway)

Run 6.2 the release.

Install teh driver.

Do not restart, instead go to System Preferences/Security.

Do you see the option to Allow OWC?

I know you have a lot of obsolete extensions, but I think by 11.6 (and 12.0), Apple fixed most of the obsolete extensions bugs.

If you do get it, select it, close (restart later), go back to SoftRAID and restart.

Did that (w/6.2) and Preferences>Security never asked to allow OWC. Yesterday, I uninstalled 6.1 and reinstalled, then uninstalled a second time and installed the beta. Never did System Preferences>Security offer an option to allow OWC. Just tried again to manually load the driver and got the same error as above.

Lets try deleting some extensions that are not code signed. Some came with an older macOS version.

First, uninstall all SoftRAID components, utilities menu.

Paste each line into the terminal and hit enter. You need your admin password:

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/ACS6x.kext

sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/ArcMSR.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/ArcMSR.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/ATTOCelerityFC8.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/ATTOExpressSASHBA2.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/ATTOExpressSASRAID2.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/CalDigitHDProDrv.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/LuLu.kext

sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/PromiseSTEX.kext

sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/PromiseSTEX.kext

sudo kmutil clear-staging
sudo kextcache -i /

restart and run SoftRAID. Wait before restarting. Do you get the Allow option now?

If you need any of the above, get fresh copies (current) and re-install. Some are installed in the wrong location.

Still no Allow option, and driver not loaded.

Let me double check:

Did you do this?
https://support.apple.com/en-lk/guide/mac-help/mchl768f7291/mac
Select reduced security and enable this:
Select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox to allow installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

In your System Profiler, I notice "activation lock" is enabled. I checked a couple other working M1 and they show the hardware lock is disabled.

Startup in the recovery mode again. Take a photo of the Startup System Utility screen and post it. Let me make sure your system setting is correct.
