Once the disk is ejected via Jettison, you hear the drives move, lights flash green- then they shut off and then the blue light and fan stays on.. if I *do not* put the computer to sleep, the fan and blue lights continue to stay on and there is no movement in the drives.

Once I put the computer to sleep, then it sounds like it powers down and then the fan goes off, but the blue light stays on. Just tried it again and it seems to stay silent for the first time ever. Once you wake the computer, the lights flash green, fan turns on and then the blue light stays on.

Should I be seeing the amber light when the computer is in sleep mode or is it normal to have the fan off and blue light on once its sleeping?

I just tried what you described. Unmounted the drive, let it sit for a couple minutes (the blue led stayed on) and then put it to sleep. The drives and fan did not power down until I put it to sleep. Less than 30 seconds after, it started the behavior that I described above again. Should I be switching the power button on the back to "off"?

Yes, I have "wake for network access on". I tried unchecking it and it behaves the same. All other boxes in the Energy Saver are also unchecked.

One thing that I noticed, was when I setup a hot corner to activate the screen saver, that seemed to be the best option for the drive. The fan and blue light stay on, but at least the green lens and drives are not going crazy.

What if you first unmount your volume and let the system sit, awake? The drives should power down after a minute or two. Do they stay powered down?

Its a matter of figuring out what is waking the disks. Normally it is indexing, which seems not to be the cause as you disabled spotlight.

Hey Everyone!

New here, and unfortunately part of the same problem as many of you with the "M1's".

My issue is when I put my computer (Mac Mini M1 16GB- Big Sur 11.3 Beta/SoftRaid b53) to sleep and all 4 green lights blink.. then a few seconds later blink again and then the drive powers down. Then less than 60 seconds after, the drive powers up again, all 4 green lights come on then off, and you hear that the drive is on.

About a minute later (more or less) all 4 green lights blink and then it shuts down again.

This happens again and again while the computer is asleep. The time between connecting and disconnecting varies, but is within a few minutes of each other. Throughout all of this, the blue light remains on as well.

Any program that the drive is working with (Lightroom, photoshop) is quit prior to putting it to sleep.

Spotlight indexing is off. I've also tried the Jettison app, which does unmount the drive, but this specific problem still persists.

I would appreciate any help!

Thanks,

Dylan
