SoftRAID does not control volume mounting/unmounting, that is macOS Finder. When you unmount in SoftRAID, we are making an OS call to unmount/mount.

Is anything using this volume, say Time Machine? or any other process?

It also could be a spotlight issue, if this just started, you can try removing spotlight from this volume, restart and see if it unmounts normally after that.

I have BigSur 11.6.3 and SOftRaid 6.2

With an OWC ThunderBay 4 in RAID5

I am unable to unmount my device?

If I click eject from finder it wants to force eject.

Or in softraid it tries then just stops. I get the blue bar then it disappears shortly after?

How can I properly eject / unmount this drive?
