@softraid-support sorry not sure what a SoftRaid tech support file is. It happens during start up of the computer. I have a 2020 mac mini running an M1 chip. With a Thunderbay 4- Thunderbolt 3.

I'm travelling so I can't test it out.. Just wondering if the MacOS 12.2 update has done anything for the kernel panic problem?

No.
SoftRAID 6.2.1 assists with Time Machine issues, but the main panic on RAID 5 is still waiting for a formal fix.

Well, it was a pretty long run without a problem but I woke up to see there was a panic a few hours ago. Currently running macOS 12.2 and SoftRAID 6.2.1 b9 with my Thunderbay in a raid4 configuration. Support file and crash log attached.

The good news, a separate issue. this is a time out bug.
It looks similar to one I have been tracking on an M1 max, where (I was specifically testing Time Machine), putting the machine to sleep allowed a kernel panic restart. On my test machine, I had a monitor, but after I got the panic, I saw it nearly every time I let it sleep overnight.
SoftRAID is not in the backtrace, I do not know if this crash is exclusive to SoftRAID volumes or not, we are trying to narrow it down, but it may take a while.

I have an 2019 iMac and and Thunderbay 4 Thunderbolt 3 enclosure and I'm not using Softraid xt lite 5.8.4 at all — in fact I've uninstalled it to see if it would resolve my problem.
The restart never happens during the day when I put my machine to sleep for 3-4 hours — in fact the screen goes black but the computer never really sleeps more than 1 min. it goes back on with disk activity for a minute or 2 then goes to sleep for 10 sec. and the cycle repeats. Eventually after more than 4 hours the Mac restarts with a message to advise of a problem.

Can you test with the latest SoftRAID beta?

(uninstall driver)
Run the beta, install the driver and "Allow" OWC.

@softraid-support: this morning I've installed the beta version. Everything went smoothly and on the opening Softraid listed all my disks — only Time Machine disk appeared with the Softraid icon -blue dot- in the window (not on my desktop). All disks were recognized as non-RAID and all are OK after SMART test.
Yesterday I've have checked all my external disks using the disk utility (opened in recuperation mode i.e. restart holding «command+r») S.O.S. function. For the first time since update to Monterey 12.2 I did not have a Kernel panic during the night. But my iMac did not stay in Sleep mode either.

Good start. If we can resolve most of these Time Machine issues, it will be good.
