I just followed the instructions included with the software for updating to version 6.3. However, the old version of the Softraid monitor is still being loaded on startup. You really need to include in the instructions how to disable the old version before upgrading. What is the proper way to do an update like this?
You must be running into a supposedly fixed macOS bug in the extensions cache, where old drivers are not updated.
I assume you ran this or similar
sudo kextstat -b com.softraid.driver.SoftRAID
To see that 6.2.1 is still loading?
Try Uninstall SoftRAID, utilities menu.
After restart, run this command again, to make sure the SoftRAID driver is not loading.
then install 6.3 again, assuming the uninstall worked.
Me too... I've upgraded to 6.3 but the Softraid monitor on the menu bar I guess is from the previous version, not functional at all. I need to start SoftRaid 6.3 from the dock of applications folder. Any simple way to install the latest Softraid monitor?
Lets see what driver version is loading. Paste this into terminal.app:
sudo kextstat -b com.softraid.driver.SoftRAID
the output will tell you what driver macOS is actually loading.
Yes it is 6.3, but the SoftRaid monitor in menu bar is not working. But how to make it work?
Executing: /usr/bin/kmutil showloaded --bundle-identifier com.softraid.driver.SoftRAID
No variant specified, falling back to release

Attach a SoftRAID tech support file. (Utilities menu) and I can take a closer look.
I don't know why but now it is working properly! Thanks.
