Yes when a thunderbolt signal reaches the drives, they will spin up. If they are not spinning up, that means the computer is not able to communicate with them.]]></description>

<p>I use thunderbolt 2 cable - mDP with adapter to thunderbolt 3 - usbc. I use original Apple cable and adapter.</p>
<p>Even if cable or adapter are broken, should drives spin up when i turn up the power button on array?</p>
