Certifying 8 x 18TB Drives - Softraid indicates 4 errors on each disk

Hello,

I am in the process of certifying 8 x 18TB drives and about halfway through reading on the 1st pass I got a message that there are 4 errors on each drive. Attached is the support document and a screen grab of the softraid interface.

I have a 2017 iMac. Thunderbay 8 is directly connected. I also have a Thunderbay 4 connected to the Thunderbay 8 and was working on an after effects project with media on the Thunderbay 4 drive when this occurred. Both drives and computer are connected to a UPS - no power issues that I know of.

Is it okay to be using my computer while certifying the disks?

How should I proceed?

This was not a disk event, as per the log, all errors happened at the same time. Start the certify again, it should pick up close to where it left off.

Its possible something happened on your bus. Generally, yes you can certify and work at the same time. Hopefully you can continue as planned, with the certify continuing.

 

Note the timestamp is the same on all drives:
