I am in the process of removing the disks I used to test SoftRAID and wanted to prep them for use in another Mac, I followed these steps:
1) Unmounted the SoftRAID volume
2) Deleted the SoftRAID volume via the GUI
3) Run Disk Utility, select the old SoftRAID disk and clicked Erase
Disk Utility gets to the "Creating the partition map" but never completes.
Is this a known issue? Is there a better way I should be doing this?

Disk Utility is limited here.
"Zero disk" with SoftRAID. 100 sectors. then it is fine. Disk Utility does not know how to deal with some partition maps.
