Hi, I'm having kind of the same issue. 2013 iMac w/BigSur. I had a Thunderbay4 with 4 10TB WD drives in Raid 5 config. Setup went perfectly. Upgraded to a Thunderbay8 and bought 4 more WD 10TB drives. All 8 are Red Plus drives. When I installed all 8 drives into the TB8 and started up, SoftRaid6.3 still saw the original volume on the first 4 drives. I certified the 4 new drives and all passed. I deleted the original volume and initialized all 8 drives in softraid and after that I got 8 "The disk you attached was not readable by this computer" MacOS messages. I clicked ignore on all of them and tried to create a new volume and it gave me a generic unable to create volume message. The new volume shows up in the SoftRAID utility but is unmounted and won't mount. SoftRAID log says it is an error 125. SoftRAID has access to all disks checked in security preferences. ?

Aug 22 15:58:46 - SoftRAID Application: The volume create command for volume "Raid5" failed with an error (error number = 125).

Hey there,

I've just bought a Thunderbay 4 and installed 4 Samsung 4gb SSDs with the intention of running a RAID5 on them.

I went through the looong Certify-process of about 35hours with no errors.

After that I selected all four drives and selected initialize. The minute they were intialized my mac announced "The disk you attached was not readable by this computer" four times.. Any idea how i proceed from there?

I'm running all this on a MacBook Pro M1 Max with Monterey ..

Up till now i've restarted my computer. I've re-initialized the drives (with the same result) .. I tried setting up the RAID 5 drive, hoping that it was because it wasn't fully set up, that it wouldn't read the drives.

The drives show up on my disk utility - i'm assuming it's a SoftRaid issue?

I'd greatly appreciate any help you guys can give..

thanks
