the cause of this could be suspect. Since you are doing 4 at once, it is unlikely to be a cable etc. It must either be the drive, or the slot the drive is in.

go ahead and recertify. See what happens. If it fails again around the same point, you know it is the disk. See if any other disks fail as they certify.]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[I got new OWC mercury elite Pro Quad and 4x 8.0TB Hitachi Deskstar NAS drives. I have initialize each drive and started certification on each drive.
3 of them are almost done without the errors(knock the wood) , 4th failed on 2 of 3 pass with error at the bottom of the post.

Question: Is this drive  bad? What will happend if I run Certify again, can softraid software remap those bad blocks, can I trust this drive or I should ask for replacement? SoftRAID app reported 4 errors.
