Volumes are sorted in this order:
SoftRAID volumes
Apple volumes
Non Apple volumes
uninitialized

Volumes are sorted alphabetically within each category.

We do not allow users to set the volumes sort order at this time. (except by volume names)
It is something being considered for a future version.

thanks!

I have a four-bay dock and an internal drive. Not only do the members of the dock appear all out of order in the list of disks, and move about arbitrarily as individual members are removed and replaced, but the internal drive appears smack in the middle of the list. The device numbers are NOT easy to find in the mess of small type, and it is way too easy to perform an operation on the wrong member.

Thanks for considering.
