You can "check for updates" manually, but SoftRAID will prompt you for an upgrade, but that is a weekly check, so you can get it sooner if you check yourself. I installed Catalina and now SoftRAID 5.7.5 doesn't allow me to check for updates - the feature is grayed out in the menu. Launching SoftRAID also causes the system to reinstall the driver every time. Once the GM candiate is available to developers, it is generally a week or so before release. This latest beta does not allow the SoftRAID driver to be installed. (the version licensed to Apple for compatibility purposes always loads) We will work on a solution to this. I recommend users wait until 10.15.1, and also a release of SoftRAID for Catalina. Doubly so, as you will not be able to rebuild volumes, there will not be error notifications and RAID 5 performance will be slower as a result. Catalina has made very significant changes deep in the kernel. It seems likely that kernel level bugs remain that were not addressed in the GM, so this release is probably one of those releases that it's wise to be patient and let others discover the problems.
