Apple changed Catalina after the beta cycle was completed to require Secure Boot to be disabled for third party extensions to be updated/ran. There has been a (limited function) version of the SoftRAID driver bundled in every copy of MacOS since 10.3. We have had to pass Apples stringent internal testing to qualify for this each MacOS release.

However as Apple tightened up security to prevent hacks/exploits in mac OS, SoftRAID's driver was particularly affected, as Catalina suddenly required both Secure Boot and SIP to be disabled to run SoftRAID. Apple fixed the SIP problem in 10.15.1.

But Secure Boot must still be disabled. We are hoping to find a solution with Apple to allow SoftRAID to run with Secure Boot enabled in 10.16. We do not know if that will happen at this time.

I have not touch the secure boot option, expecting that I would have to interrupt the Boot Process to get to the menu to change it. Is there another way to enable Secure Boot and still have this driver intact?
I hate when something doesn't work as advertised... makes me wonder what else may not be performing optimally.
Thank you,

I recently went through the drill to get the 5.8.3 driver install on my MacBook Pro (2018) with Catalina OS. Yesterday as a matter of fact. My drives would not validate.

Now when I reboot, I need to reinitialize the validation process.
