My Avast virus software is rejecting SoftRaid 5.7.x due to reported inclusion of an adware virus.

Here's what was blocked due to virus: "MacOS:AdwareSig [Adw]

Here are some of the file locations moved to the "virus chest"

/Applications/SoftRAID 5.7/SoftRAID 5.7.app/Contents/MacOS/SoftRAID

/Library/Extensions/OWC_SMART_Library.plugin/Contents/MacOS/OWC_SMART_Library

Is there a problem if I override this? Is there a virus?

Thanks!

There is no problem with SoftRAID.

This is a bug or issue with the Avast file definitions.

Disable file scans until we can get this corrected by Avast.

You can run other scans to confirm this is only Avast.

Thank you. I was able to get the Avast app to release the files, and things now appear normal. I uploaded one of the suspicious files to a third party scanning site, and there was no virus found.
