In the SoftRAID log, does the error have a sector offset, or is it zero?

SoftRAID reports all errors involving disks/volumes, regardless of cause, it is better to be cautious than ignore any disk errors.]]></content:encoded>

I was in the middle of backing up my raid 5 to a Nas box last night and woke this morning to find a single failed disk error.. as well as a prompt to install the latest 5.6.1

Pretty coincidental that I lose a drive at the same time that an update is prompted.

Could this prompted update cause drive failure while in the middle of a big transfer?]]></content:encoded>
