Most menu commands will be grayed out unless you select an appropriate disk/volume for a task. For example if you select a volume, you can validate. If you select a disk you can verify it. Is this the case? Ah yes. I can Validate under Volume menu. No options available though under the Disk menu for any disks. Checking the SoftRaid log, the last "Finished SMART test" message is April 29 when I was running 5.1.1. Are SMART checks run in 5.5 without adding a note to the Log?
