Ah yes. I can Validate under Volume menu. No options available though under the Disk menu for any disks. Checking the SoftRaid log, the last "Finished SMART test" message is April 29 when I was running 5.1.1. Are SMART checks run in 5.5 without adding a note to the Log? I think everything seemed more logical and comfort-giving when I was running 5.1.1.

Until recently SoftRaid Lite 5.5 seemed to be working fine running OSX 10.11.4 on a MacPro (Late 2013). Then I noticed that the SoftRaid Lite icon in the menu bar was grey rather than blue. I launched SoftRaid Lite and saw that almost all menu commands are greyed out. I upgraded to OSX 10.11.5. No change. I uninstalled SoftRaid Lite and reinstalled and re-entered serial number, so drivers should now be updated and not overwritten by OSX 10.11. No change. I've converted my Raid drive to SoftRaid from AppleRaid. No change. Any advice please.
