See if it completes.
If it does, then boot from the 10.12 volume and "Convert" back to SoftRAID format.

OK. That worked.

Now, the great concern, if I have to do this every time I want to update the OS, copy everything off of 2 of my RAIDs, then delete 2 out of my 3 volumes, convert the one remaining volume back to AppleRAID, then why…

Oh, wait.

Instant kernel panics now and an endless reboot cycle. This is not good.

Yes. It is already working. I had to delete 2 volumes though before I was able to convert the volume back so that I can upgrade.

That is a serious bummer/concern.

Good call. I'll try that now. I've already lost one of my boot drives and the second is also getting stuck at the same issue.

Is there a method to enable verbose output in the installer when it boots to continue install?

Thanks

I've got a 2012 Mac Pro with 64 GB of RAM, 2x 3.0.6 6-Core Xeon and an Amfeltec Squid PCI card with 4 512 Samsung MZHPV512HDGL-00H1 AHCI blade SSDs.

These are set to RAID 0 and are several volumes, 1 500, 1 550 GB, and 1 996 GB.

I've also set up 2 Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSDs on internal SATA bus 0, Bays 3 and 4. These are set to a 499 GB RAID 0.

On all of these, I've tried to install Sierra 10.12.6 from the Mac App Store.

It worked on the RAID 0 for the 2 Samsung 850 EVO drives.

I've tried for several days with several attempts at downloading and installing the Sierra installer from the App Store and have even erased one of the volumes out of frustration.

When rebooting and proceeding with the installation, the Sierra installer ALWAYS hangs with progress at the "n" in the installer, and always states that there is "30 minutes left" as it runs overnight.

Any ideas?

$2000 worth of SSDs and I can't even update the OS. This is unpleasant.
