I have tried a few other things now too. In the softraid log file, The only error I see (which strangely does not happen during any specific action but more just randomly) Is "softraidtool: the command 94 encountered the error -50" Is there a place to look up what these numbers mean?

I also tried using softraidtool (the command line interface) directly. IT is the strangest CLI I have tried so far. Each command on the volume like "mount" or "validate" simple outputs that it will perform the task, but then there is no actual error output or other information. Mounting simply never mounts the volume and validate never seems to perform any other action (disks are idle in the enclosure)

Additionally, I have tried a different enclosure with the same results.

What else can I do to at least get an indication of what the error may be?

Mac OSX High Sierra 10.13.6

Softraid + Driver v 5.8.4 (just installed)

I have a external HDD enclosure with 4x 12TB disks (mercury elite pro quad), which was previously attached to another OSX machine with softraid in RAID5 mode, which has stopped working for reasons unrelated to softraid or the disk array. It has now come up that I need to read some data from the array. I attached it to a different OSX machine (version above), and installed the latest softraid. It installed the driver successfully and rebooted.

Now in the softraid application, I can see the four disks on the left and the raid volume on the right. On the left, all of the disks say "no errors, data and parity disk" but one of them also says "out-of-sync". If I right click the raid volume, and do "verify" , it asks for confirmation and for my password, and then does nothing. No indication of verification starts in the GUI, no increased disk or CPU usage in the system monitor. If I try to right click and "mount" the volume, also nothing at all happens. No Volume appears, no error or other indication in the GUI. I would like to mount this volume to read some of the data. Does anyone have any suggestions I can try?

Thanks for reading.
