SoftRAID lite has been installed quite happily on my machine for a while,

But on the 24th April something happened....suddenly my startup disk was re-named as SoftRAID_Media, it's disk number changed from disk6 to disk7, the indexing is broken and I can't search the drive using spotlight (and Spotlight can't re-index it).

What on earth happened? I certainly didn't ask for this and there is nothing showing in the SoftRAID log.
Also no in Disk Utility it shows that the disk is 'Uninitialized'!

What has SoftRAID done?
