I thought I'd reply here instead of creating a new post.

I've been experiencing this lately as well. I recently replaced a disk and reconfigured my system. One of my two 12TB ThunderBay RAID5's keeps writing constantly. I deleted the Spotlight index a couple of days ago and it rebuilt quickly, but now it just writes and writes. I check indexing status (by typing "indexing" in Spotlight) and it shows no activity after the rebuild.

"Main" is the one that keeps writing. It seems to coincide with that kernel task.

Any ideas?
