I'm running the full licensed version of SoftRaid, 5.6.1.
The write cache is checked as "enabled" but when I restart my computer, it clearly doesn't work. So I uncheck and re-check the box to activate the write cache.

I will try to run the Thunderbay version (I didn't know there was one).

Maybe you are running the incorrect version? Are you in expired trial mode?

Try this version of SoftRAID:
SoftRAID for ThunderBay: https://softraid.com/srtb

Since upgrading to SoftRaid version 5.6.1, I've started noticing poor write speeds on my Thunderbolt RAID 5 array (4x4TB in a Thunderbay 4 enclosure) after rebooting my computer. It seems as though Write Caching is being disabled somehow.

Although the Write Cache is enabled in my SoftRaid preferences, disabling it and then re-enabling it appears to solve the problem. I go from write speeds of around 150MB/s to write speeds of ~400MB/s after the uncheck/re-check process.

System
iMac 17,1
MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 (16G29)
Ram: 48GB

Drive Configuration
4x 4TB Hitatchi Deskstar
Enclosure: OWC ThunderBay 4
RAID 5 (SoftRaid) Optimized for Digital Photography

Thanks for any insight!
