@softraid-support I'm on the same page as you. I understand TextEdit defaults to Rich Text Format instead of plain text. I get it. My settings are set to plain text. Done. Understood.

HOWEVER, I downloaded your plain text file from here (https://forums.softraid.com/postid/18111/) and tried to reupload it immediately and I got the "Error: FileType not allowed" message. That should have worked for me because your file is definitely plain text, but it didn't work.

I didn't open you plain text file. I didn't "Save As...". I just downloaded it. I tried on Safari. I tried on Chrome. Neither of these browsers convert plain text to RTF or vice versa simply by downloading them or uploading them.

Uploading plain text files clearly works for you, but not me (nor other users on the forum). If I had to guess, this is not about plain text vs. RTF; it may be an admin vs user privilege issue. In a previous instance of this error, you said you talked to a web admin and they said a plug-in had expired and they fixed the issue (https://forums.softraid.com/postid/10818/). I'm not sure if that's what's happening here, but could you be possibly talk to a web admin about this? Maybe try uploading from a non-admin account to make sure it's not a user privilege issue?

Thanks.

I've had this problem since buying the enclosure in October when I was running Monterey. Lots of people in the forums were having the same problem. The actual solution suggested by Support was to wait 5 minutes after boot and then plug it in.

https://forums.softraid.com/postid/17126/

This was a week before Ventura launched, so they had hoped that this problem would be fixed by the new OS. Well, here I am running Ventura 13.1 on SoftRaid XT 7.0.1 and I'm running into the same problem and using the same solution of waiting 5 minutes before mounting. PLEASE tell me I don't have to keep doing this for the rest of the lifespan of this enclosure. Someone do something to fix this.

For what it's worth, I used an fstab file to tell the OS to not mount my volume on boot. Then after 5 minutes, I mount it and it works just fine. This way I don't have to unplug and replug the enclosure to avoid the kernel panic. I just leave it plugged in, the system boots up, and the volume doesn't mount until I go out of my way to mount it myself. Instructions found here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7942

Also, attaching my kernel panic text as a .txt file (https://forums.softraid.com/postid/10177/) doesn't work because your forum doesn't support it.
