As an EFI volume, SoftRAID cannot erase it. It can also happen if you erase a SoftRAID APFS volume as HFS.</p>
<p>This is also why you cannot easily get rid of the volume, it is "semi mounted" so SoftRAID could not unmount/delete the volume.</p>
<p>You did the correct thing using Disk Utility, one blade at a time.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>Can no longer mount the drive. Always been set up as a RAID 0 from factory. </p>
<p>Fortunately I have no important data on it - but it's not letting me do anything. I can't erase, create a new volume etc, and does not mount whatsoever?</p>
<p>Please advise? I just wanted to erase it and create an empty drive. </p>
