Can't rebuild because the offset value doesn't increase.
I've been using OWC's Thunderbay6 for about two years now.
・Apple iMac Pro 2017
・macOS Big Sur 11.5.1
I was notified by SoftRAID that one of the six disks was likely to fail, so I attempted to replace it.
The rebuild started successfully, but in the middle of the rebuild, my hand hit the OWC itself and one of the HDDs had a bad contact and the rebuild was aborted.
After that, immediately after the reboot, the rebuild proceeds with the remaining time displayed along with the notification that the rebuild will start, but the current offset value does not move and the remaining time display disappears after a while.
I initialized the HDD and tried again, but the result was the same.
I'm having a lot of trouble and I'm hoping someone can give me a solution.
Attach a SoftRAID tech support file. Its possible this has a trivial solution.
Thanks for the reply.
I'll attach the file you mentioned.
Did you get an alert from macOS that the volume was mounted read only?
Otherwise, it should be rebuilding. You can try restarting.
If you got the warning, that is why it is not rebuilding, the volume directory is damaged and SoftRAID does not rebuild if the volume is not mounted healthily. that would be to be fixed first.
