With the end of support for Mojave looming I am looking for a home for the spinning drives in my Mac Pro 5,1 to be paired with a new M1 Mac mini or iMac, these drives are already configured with a SoftRAID license bought many years ago.
Amazon Canada is advertising the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad with SoftRAID XT Lite.

What if any residual value does this included license have for the purposes of SoftRAID 6?
Thanks
This will have a SoftRAID 5 XT license upgradeable to version 6 if it does not already have a 6 XT license included.
Thunderbolt costs a bit more but you may get more long term value out of it.
Thanks,
This page does not refer to 6.0 versions of SoftRAID Lite, XT or XT Lite: https://www.softraid.com/support/download-latest-version/
Now I am really confused.

I thought SoftRAID Lite and XT Lite were discontinued?

There is only one version of SoftRAID Application now. The license determines the features that are available. So users do not have to worry about what to download.
there is a SoftRAID Lite license, but no XT Lite.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
As long as I can use the SoftRAID license that comes with this device on a new Apple Silicon Mac I am happy.
There is now only one version of SoftRAID to download, the license determines what features are enabled.
