If I do that, would I set up my RAID first, then run the Certify?</p>

<p>Are the drives getting hot? Temperature can be a concern on drives. Why not certify them in an enclosure? Its not recommended to use drives long term in drive docks, as there is no cooling. or at least use a fan on them.</p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am Certifying 2 14TB WD Gold drives.<br />Using SoftRaid 7.6.1. The 2 drives are in my OWC Drive Dock.</p>
<p>I started the process last night and it said 80 hours to complete the task. This morning it's up to 150 hours and keeps rising. </p>
<p>My questions:</p>
<ul>
<li>Does this sound reasonable? It's almost an entire week.</li>
<li>Would Certifying one drive at a time speed up the process?</li>
<li>I'm worried that running the Drive Dock for a week straight would cause damage.</li>
</ul>
<p>Any advice.</p>
