Backup/restore is real tedious on 50TB. Disk Warrior can fix this 99% of the time, in a few minutes. then rebuilding will complete.

SoftRAID does not rebuild unmounted or damaged volumes for safety reasons.

Good morning, one of the HDDs in my ThunderBay Flex 8 has failed. It’s an 8TB drive, and I replaced it with an identical one (same brand and size). All the drives are 8TB, for a total of 56TB. I replaced the disk and started the rebuilding process, but I can’t tell if it’s progressing or not. I’m using SoftRAID version 8.3 and selected “optimized for workstation” to speed up the rebuilding, but there’s no timing indicator to show me that it’s advancing. The only number that occasionally increases is I/O Request but I don’t know what that means.

How can I know if the rebuilding is progressing or not? Additionally, I’m using a Mac, and while I can access some files, I can’t access all of them, and I can’t write to the disk at the moment.

Can anyone help me understand if everything is working correctly?
