So it builds up over time. You are likely correct in your case. And if your volume does start getting slow, you can recreate the volume and restore from backup to get it faster again.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>In my use case, I don't plan on modifying the files I add to my Thunderbay 4 RAID 5, will they still end up getting slower over time?</p>]]></content:encoded>
